AAUW—Manhattan Branch Exhibit at
2013 Community Fair
The Manhattan Branch of the American Association of University Women presided a table at the 2013 Manhattan Town Center Community Fair on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Membership brochures and information about AAUW’s various missions, such as the Legal Advocacy Fund, were provided for anyone interested. Issues of the AAUW magazine, the Outlook, were available for viewing along with brochures on the extensive national AAUW Fellowships and Grants. A list of the Manhattan Branch monthly programs and copies of our local K-State scholarship application were provided. The Manhattan Branch KSU Scholarship is now coordinated by the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, ensuring permanent scholarship support for female, non-traditional students working toward a degree from Kansas State University. Barbara Gatewood, AAUW Membership Chair and Nancy Bolsen, President will provide follow up letters and/or phone calls with women that expressed an interest in the Manhattan Branch of AAUW.

September 26, 11:30 – 1:00 p.m. Program at 12:05 p.m., Big 12 Room of K-State Union
Speakers Tresa Landis and Dr. Nancy Bolsen of the local AAUW branch shared information about AAUW scholarship and grant opportunities. Tresa Landis has been an AAUW member for 20 years and is currently serving as Vice President for Programs of the Manhattan Branch. Dr. Nancy Bolsen currently serves as the AAUW President for the Manhattan branch and assisted staff with obtaining a $10,000 grant from AAUW.
